Coach Dreffs builds players by building people first. Ask him about a season, and he'll tell you about the kid who learned to own a mistake, not just the one who hit .400, because at G2G, the student always comes before the athlete. Known for his focus on discipline, accountability, and mindset, he has made a lasting impact on players and families throughout the community.
He's the current head varsity baseball coach of the Dexter Dreadnaughts, where he led the program to a school-record 31 wins, the school’s first regional title and owns the 4 highest win seasons in Dexter Baseball history (3 as a coach, 1 as a player).

At G2G, your athlete trains directly under coach Dreffs in the Sunday small-group sessions, with a 4-athlete-to-1-coach ratio, so he learns each kid's game by name and coaches them to their next Gap.

Megan Rahn
Assistant Varsity Softball Coach, Dexter High School
For me, softball has always been more than a sport. It's a lifelong passion. From T-ball to collegiate softball at Concordia University Ann Arbor, the game shaped who I am. Now I'm committed to giving back and helping the next generation grow the same way the game helped me grow.
I currently serve as an assistant varsity softball coach at Dexter High School, and I recently led the 13U Midwest Gators travel team. I've also coached at numerous Softball Nation camps, working with athletes of all ages and skill levels to develop their fundamentals, confidence, and love for the game.
I believe softball is one of life's greatest teachers. It builds resilience, discipline, leadership, and mental toughness. My mission is to help every player build the confidence to compete fearlessly, overcome adversity, and believe in themselves long after the final out.
I coach with purpose, energy, and intention. Every drill has a reason, every practice has a goal, and every athlete is challenged, encouraged, and given room to grow. That's the standard I hold, and it's how players become stronger athletes, better teammates, and confident young women.
Families know me as a coach who genuinely cares about their players' development on and off the field. I celebrate effort, embrace the hard days, and work to bring out the best in every athlete I coach.
I'm excited to lead the softball program at G2G Academy and build a culture rooted in hard work, accountability, positivity, and love for the game. I can't wait to help these athletes discover their potential, compete with confidence, and fall for this game the way I did.

Colin Danek
Defiance College Pitching Coach
Not long ago, Colin Danek was a teenager on the mound learning what it takes to compete at the next level. That's exactly what makes him the right coach for a young pitcher — he's walking the path your athlete is starting down.
Colin recently completed his collegiate pitching career at Defiance College, where he now serves as the pitching coach. He also was a pitcher at Alma College. As a multi-sport athlete in high school, Colin earned all-conference, all-Catholic League, and all-district honors in baseball.
In G2G’s Pitching Development program, Colin coaches two athletes at a time, and they keep him for all eight weeks, so they learn from each other as well as from him. He helps build both mechanics and the mental resilience needed to perform under pressure, tracking progress from session to session. Like every G2G coach, he addresses both the competitive spirit and the personal growth of each player.
You may recognize the last name: Colin is the eldest son of co-founder Bryan Danek.

Tom Davey
Former Major League Pitcher
Before any of the rest of it, Tom Davey was a Michigan kid with a ball in his hand. He pitched at Plymouth Salem High School, then at Henry Ford College, the same kind of path a lot of the athletes in our cages are on right now.
That path went a long way. Tom pitched 114 games in the major leagues for the Toronto Blue Jays, the Seattle Mariners, and the San Diego Padres, then spent five more seasons pitching professionally in Japan.
What he brings back to Dexter is not the résumé. It is what he learned carrying it: how to repeat a delivery when your mechanics want to drift, how to throw the next pitch after a bad one, and how to keep working on the days the work is not fun.
It also means an athlete here can see the whole path in one person. Michigan high school, community college, the major leagues — no shortcut, just ordinary work done well for a long time.
At G2G, Tom coaches pitching two athletes at a time: mechanics first, and the composure to use them under pressure. Pitchers work in pairs on purpose; they learn as much watching a delivery as throwing one. Like every G2G coach, he coaches the person before the pitcher.
Softball Pitching Coach, G2G Academy
Lauren Reichel
NCCAA First Team All-American, Concordia University Ann Arbor
Lauren Reichel learned to pitch in Onsted, a small town in Lenawee County, where she was named the county’s Pitcher of the Year. She is proof that where an athlete starts does not cap where she can go.
At Concordia University Ann Arbor, Lauren became an NCCAA First Team All-American. In 2021, she struck out 169 batters behind a 2.26 ERA, the fifth-highest strikeout season in program history — and took the ball in the NCCAA World Series championship game.
That is the part most people hear. The part that matters more for your athlete is what pitching at that level teaches you: how to repeat a delivery when your body wants to drift, how to reset between pitches, and how to throw the next one after the last one did not go your way.
If the Concordia story sounds familiar, it should. Lauren and Megan Rahn were teammates on that team, and both of them now coach in the same building in Dexter.
At G2G, Lauren coaches softball pitchers two at a time, building mechanics that hold up under pressure and the composure to trust them. Pairing pitchers is deliberate - the athlete waiting her turn is still learning. Like every G2G coach, she coaches the person before the pitcher.

Catching Development Coach, G2G Academy
Former Baseball Catcher
Catching is the one position that touches every pitch. Nate Boyer has spent fifteen years behind the plate learning what that job actually asks of a player, and he coaches the responsibility as much as he coaches the skill.
He has caught pitchers at every level of the game, from JUCO to the major leagues, and has played alongside college athletes and current professionals. That range matters to a young catcher for one reason: Nate has seen up close what separates the players who keep moving up from the players who stop.
Nate teaches the part of catching that never shows up in a box score: how to prepare before anyone else has arrived, how to do the reps nobody claps for, and how to hold the same standard on the days nobody is watching. That is what college baseball asks of a player, and it is what he asks of the athletes he coaches. The skill grows out of it, not the other way around.
Like every G2G coach, Nate coaches the person before the player.
Bryan Danek
Director of Operations & Co-Founder
Former College Baseball Player, Coach
Bryan Danek is a baseball dad before he's a co-founder. He's raising four kids: three boys and a girl, and all three boys grew up on the diamond, which means Bryan has logged more hours in dugouts and on little-league fields than he can count. He played college ball himself, but ask him what the game is really for, and he'll point past the box score: the work ethic, the bounce-back, the way a team teaches a kid who they are.
A Dexter resident of 18 years, Bryan loves coaching youth baseball for exactly that reason: the life lessons that outlast the season. When he met Hank, the two realized they wanted the same thing: a place built around community, where young athletes learn to see the best in themselves. That shared belief is why G2G exists.
Off the field, you'll find him mentoring, passing on those same life lessons and getting cheerfully heckled by his daughter, Josie, who keeps him humble
